Throughout spring, WGTS 91.9 listeners have supported mothers facing financial hardship by donating diapers. Since March, the “Covered with Love” diaper drive has collected nearly 70,000 diapers, which have been distributed to local churches, shelters and diaper banks. The Hands and Heart initiative is part of the station’s ongoing community outreach efforts.

More than 6,000 WGTS 91.9 listeners got together for a trip down memory lane at the Third Day 30th Anniversary Tour. Fan favorite Zach Williams opened the show with some of his biggest hits. Then, Third Day spent close to two hours singing their most popular songs from the past three decades. It’s the first time in more than a decade that the original members of the band played together.
“The crowd almost never sat down. People of all ages were singing along with every word of every song,” said WGTS director of promotions and community engagement Ken Scribner.

Thousands of people from Washington, D.C., to countries around the world came together to celebrate the resurrection of Jesus at the 46th annual Easter Sunrise Service at the Lincoln Memorial with National Community Church. From 1979, when 127 people gathered on the steps of the Lincoln Memorial with Capital Church, to today, when thousands gathered for this service, it has become one of D.C.’s foremost traditions. Several years ago, National Community Church took up the mantle of running the service.

WGTS 91.9 listeners gave from the heart again by sponsoring children in Haiti during a recent Micah Tyler concert in Virginia. For the last few years, WGTS has worked side by side with Holistic Haitian Alliance (HHA) to support the Kay Anj Village in Haiti.
For three years the station helped to raise money for HHA by rappelling off the top of a hotel in Tysons Corner, Virginia, for an event called “Over the Edge.” This year, the two organizations decided to do a benefit concert instead.
Thanks to generous gifts from listeners who caught the vision, WGTS 91.9 has welcomed a new member to their team, a ministry box truck that will allow WGTS to reach more people with the love of Jesus.
Starting in the last quarter of 2025, WGTS staff used this vehicle to bring hope to the region through Hands and Heart projects and Sticker Stops, Christian concerts, along with special events at schools and churches.
