El Comité Ejecutivo de la Unión de Columbia eligió a Rick Remmers como secretario ejecutivo de la unión. Remmers (fotografiado con su esposa, Shayne) comenzó su nuevo cargo en enero para cubrir la vacante dejada por Rob Vandeman, quien anunció planes para retirarse durante el 2021.
Remmers ha sido el presidente de la Conferencia de Chesapeake desde el 2011. Anteriormente se desempeñó como secretario ejecutivo de la misma conferencia.
Welcome to the Columbia Union Conference Year of the Bible. Throughout 2021, we will place special emphasis on the primacy of the Word of God and how it informs and impacts our mission, ministries and lives. During this special year, we invite you to join us in spending more time reading the Bible, digging deeper for knowledge and understanding, and meditating on its precepts, promises and prophecies.
At a time when many of Christ’s followers turned away, Jesus asked His disciples, “'Do you also want to go away?' But Simon Peter answered Him, ‘Lord, to whom shall we go? You have the words of eternal life’” (John 6:67–68, NKJV).

Rodney Bowes, ASI International’s vice president for evangelism, showcased the tools available through its 3AM Call website. The resource was created to help anyone who wants to tell others about the soon coming of Jesus.

El presidente de la Unión de Columbia, Dave Weigley, inauguró hoy la reunión de fin de año del Comité Ejecutivo de la Unión de Columbia y señaló que la misión continúa a pesar de las restricciones pandémicas por el coronavirus. También compartió que el liderazgo de la unión espera celebrar el 2021 como el Año de la Biblia, con recursos y un evento especial planeado en febrero.
El impacto de la pandemia en los ministerios se vio en la reducción de la matrícula educativa, el despido de 10 educadores y el cambio de planes, pero la dedicación de los miembros a la misión también se vio a través del evangelismo innovador, la plantación de iglesias, la atención médica y más.
Rising coronavirus infection rates are causing many families and churches to reexamine their holiday plans. However, the socially distanced show must go on and many Adventist schools and churches are already preparing their virtual holiday programs.
