Adventist HealthCare Shady Grove Medical Center Earns Five-Star Rating from Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services

Adventist HealthCare Shady Grove Medical Center has earned a five-star rating from the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services. The rating is based on quality and performance measures as compared to over 4,000 hospitals across the country. Less than 9% of hospitals received five stars. Shady Grove Medical Center is the only hospital in Montgomery County, and one of eight in Maryland, to receive the distinction.

"This achievement represents years of hard work at every level of our organization," said Dan Cochran, president of Shady Grove Medical Center. "This five-star distinction is truly the mark of people and processes coming together to make sure our patients have the safest, highest quality care."

Now, those breastfeeding experts have opened Maryland’s first hospital-based milk depot to better connect area moms with extra breast milk to babies in need.

Kettering Mobile Care to cover tuition, pay wages for 24 EMT Academy students

In response to the statewide emergency medical technician (EMT) shortage, Kettering Health Network’s Kettering Mobile Care leaders are going to pay tuition and full-time wages for 24 candidates who attend the EMT Academy at Butler Tech in Liberty Twp. The eight-week class begins January 6, 2020.

Kettering Mobile Care is Kettering Health Network’s medical transportation service whose vehicles are dedicated solely to transporting patients into and out of the health system’s hospitals, emergency departments and outpatient facilities.

Adventist WholeHealth Network Moving to Blue Mountain Academy

Adventist WholeHealth Network (AWHN) is not new to Pennsylvania. They have been providing resources and education to individuals, churches and organizations from their office in Reading, Pa., since 2002. Late this spring they will move their office to the Pennsylvania Conference's Blue Mountain Academy (BMA) in Hamburg, Pa., where AWHN will provide various health ministry training events, wellness camps and conferences, while offering attendees affordable overnight lodging and meals.
