Ohio’s First Lady Fran DeWine Visits Kettering Health

In November, First Lady Fran DeWine visited Soin Medical Center and Kettering Health Greene Memorial to show her appreciation for our commitment to the community.

Soin Medical Center’s Mother/Baby Unit enrolls newborns in the Imagination Library program, which sends a free book each month to children of enrolled families. DeWine is a large proponent of the program and heads Ohio’s Imagination Library efforts. During her tour of Soin, she visited the Mother/Baby Unit, thanked employees for their support, and met a family and their newborn baby Jace.

Adventist HealthCare Advances Mental Health For Children

In 2021, Adventist HealthCare’s The Lourie Center for Children’s Social & Emotional Health was awarded a five-year, $2 million dollar grant to implement Family Attachment-focused Services, Treatment, & Training (FASTT) in Montgomery and Prince George’s County.

The grant was awarded from the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA) and the University of Maryland School of Social Work will serve as a third-party evaluation and assessment partner.

“If we’re going to give ourselves over to the service of God, then we best position ourselves to do so by caring for our bodies,” said C. J. Cousins, associate pastor
of Potomac Conference’s Vienna (Va.) church, speaking on spiritual health.

He suggests the following are 10 of the most spiritual things you can do:

  • Exercise regularly
  • Drink 64 oz. of water daily
  • Get eight hours of sleep Set healthy time and relationship boundaries
  • Guard your hearts against sin Embrace limits, recognizing you're not a machine
  • Eat a healthy diet
  • Enjoy hobbies
  • Experience Sabbath rest
  • Take vacations regularly

North American Division Hosts COVID-19 Vaccination Clinic and Fresh Produce Giveaway

The North American Division is partnering with Howard County General Hospital to offer a COVID-19 Vaccination Clinic and fresh produce giveaway this Sunday, November 21, noon-4 pm and Sunday, December 12, noon-4 pm.

The event takes place at 9705 Patuxent Woods Drive, Columbia Md., 21046.

Details: Pfizer vaccine. Open to those age 5 and older. Spanish interpreters on site. Booster doses available. Please bring your white vaccine card with you and don’t forget to stop by the parking lot and pick up some free fresh produce.
