Adventist HealthCare is proud to announce a new Pharmacy Technician Training Program – a triple-win initiative that helps alleviate a national shortage of pharmacy techs, empowers professional development and builds a strong pipeline of candidates to meet the needs of Adventist HealthCare patients and providers.

The six-week program is designed to hire and train retail pharmacy technicians to expand their skills in order to work with a broader range of medicines, compound sterile and IV medications, assist with medical history documentation, participate in clinical rounds, and collaborate with the healthcare team. The pharmacy techs are then positioned to strengthen patient care and also help optimize health outcomes after patients return to their homes.

Adventist HealthCare has been named to Newsweek’s 2025 list of Most Trustworthy Companies in America. The rankings were determined by examining three main public pillars of trust – customer trust, potential investor trust, and potential employee trust – as well as evaluating online remarks.

Of the thousands of companies that met the initial analysis threshold across all industries, only 700 companies were named most trustworthy nationwide, including only 16 Maryland-based companies.

In the Healthcare and Life Sciences category, which included a broad range of health systems, pharmaceutical companies, online wellness firms and other health services, Adventist HealthCare ranked 17th out of the 33 organizations named.

On Sunday, Sept. 21, more than 500 community members gathered at the Adventist HealthCare Triumph Trek and Health Fair to celebrate individuals who have overcome serious injury or illness – as well as the caregivers, families and friends who have supported them every step of the way.

The event stems from a long-standing legacy of a “walk, wheel or run” that originally focused on raising awareness and support for those with limb loss. The tradition expanded last year to welcome and acknowledge those who have overcome a range of health obstacles with the help of Adventist HealthCare Rehabilitation and Home Care Services teams.
