This year marks the 125th anniversary of our beloved Columbia Union Conference Visitor magazine. Starting in 1895 in the Ohio Conference as The Welcome Visitor, it has evolved under the helm of 30 known editors.

No editor was listed during the first few years of publication. Copies of the four-page, black and white journal seem to indicate a joint publishing effort by conference leaders. They charged 35 cents for an annual subscription, that was to be paid up front.

Alec Ryrie, a professor at Durham University, presented "How Do You Know the Bible is the Word of God?" at the Columbia Union Conference 2019 Leadership Summit themed Sola Scriptura.

"The way to know Scripture… Is to encounter it to with our whole selves. ... immerse yourself in it, to be swept along by it," shared Ryrie.

The Visitor magazine production team recently hired a new employee. Have you met him yet? He has a pink nose, big ears and a long tail.

Introducing Victor, the Visitor mouse!

KIDS! In 2020, use your 20/20 vision to search for Victor, who will be hidden within the printed pages of the Visitor. For each issue, the first 15 kids to find Victor will receive a gift, sponsored by LivingWell in Silver Spring, Md.

But wait a minute! It can’t be that easy. In fact, this is not the time to be as quiet as a mouse!

1. Get your parents to snap a photo of you alongside Victor. (Say, “Cheese!”)
