Today the Adventist Development and Relief Agency (ADRA) announced a new global advocacy campaign, “Every Child. Everywhere. In School.” The campaign is an urgent call to leaders around the world that all children, regardless of race, age, nationality, gender, religion or origin, have a right to earn and complete an education, and that being in school is a recognition of the value and potential of each individual child.

When I became a Seventh-day Adventist several years ago, one element of the church struck me as really strange: prayer. Little did I know how much prayer would impact my life over the next 20 years.
A few years ago, my pastor/husband and I were transferred to our third district in the Mountain View Conference. I began looking online for houses, but we couldn’t agree on many of them. We made a trip to our new district, got in touch with a realtor and sent him our list of about 15 homes. He scheduled a four-hour time slot for us.

After serving 10 years as associate director for Early Childhood Education and Care (ECEC) in Columbia Union Conference’s Office of Education, and seven years as associate Superintendent of Schools for the Potomac Conference, Evelyn Sullivan will soon leave her position at the union. She starts her new role March 1 as the Early Childhood Education director at the North American Division.

Jorge Ramirez, Potomac Conference's vice president for Administration has announced he will be moving to a different position. He has accepted a call to the Arizona Conference as executive secretary.
"For almost 12 years, Jorge and I have worked closely together on some very difficult issues," says President Bill Miller. "In every instance, he has demonstrated the highest level of personal integrity and unwavering commitment and loyalty to Potomac Conference."

WGTS 91.9 hosted more than 2,200 women at the recent “Dare to Be” women’s event with Natalie Grant and Charlotte Gambill at the Hylton Christian Event Center (Va.). The station has hosted this event for the past six years. This year’s theme of “Speak to the Storm” addressed the lives of women in this area, many of which faced two lost paychecks through the government shutdown. Organizers offered free tickets to any woman who wished to attend with a federal government employee badge. Through music, prayer and the inspirational messages Natalie and Charlotte encouraged women to live their roles as wives, moms, employees, daughters and friends to the fullest.
