The Columbia Union Conference, established in 1907 to coordinate the Seventh-day Adventist Church's work in Delaware, Maryland, New Jersey, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Virginia, West Virginia and the District of Columbia, is part of the worldwide Protestant denomination of 23 million members in more than 212 countries. At the union level, we connect and provide administrative leadership, governance and support services to our conferences, schools, health care networks and ministries. Sligo Hosts Homecoming Weekend

This weekend Potomac Conference’s Sligo church in Takoma Park, Md., is hosting their Homecoming 2016 Weekend featuring Ron Halvorsen Jr., as the Sabbath morning speaker and Point of Grace as the featured musicians.

Halverson, former Sligo senior pastor, is the president of the Ohio Conference. Point of Grace, a Dove Award winning Christian trio, will sing during the 11 a.m. service and provide a free 6 p.m. concert at the church.

All service attendees will be provided with a Sligo sticker that will allow them to each lunch at the international luncheon at the Takoma Academy Gymnasium.  The weekend will end with the Annual Tennis Tournament on Sunday morning.

During the two-and-a-half-day Pathway clinic in Beckley, 1,722 people received $6.5 million in free services that included dental procedures, eye exams and medical services such as cardiology, radiology, pediatrics, podiatry, HIV tests and minor surgical procedures, etc. Patients were also offered healthy lifestyle counseling, massages, haircuts and styles, spiritual literature, a vegan lunch and supper, the opportunity to visit the clothing distribution center and prayer with a chaplain. U.S. News & World Report names Kettering Medical Center among the best hospitals in the Dayton area

U.S. News & World Report has ranked Kettering Adventist HealthCare's Kettering Medical Centerin Kettering, Ohio,  among the best hospitals for 2016-17. The annual U.S. News Best Hospitals rankings, now in their 27th year, help guide patients to hospitals that deliver outstanding care across 25 specialties, procedures, and conditions.

Kettering Medical Center is ranked #17 out of 210 hospitals in Ohio, and is recognized among the Best Hospitals in the Dayton metro area and the Ohio River Valley region. It is recognized as high performing in the following specialties:
